In 1962 Rachel Carson stated that for the first time in the history of the world, every human being is now subjected to contact with dangerous chemicals, from the moment of conception until death.
This statement was true then and continues to be true today. We all are exposed to a number of different chemicals, carcinogens, and toxins in our environment on a daily basis, but while we may have no control over some exposures, there are many that we do.
The workshop, presented by the Pennsylvania Resources Council is designed to heighten awareness and encourage action around the issue of toxins in our environment. We all are exposed to a number of different chemicals, carcinogens, and toxins in our environment on a daily basis, and while we may have no control over some exposures, there are many that we do. These exposures can come from radiation in our cell phones, parabens in our personal care products, or BPA in our plastics – so how can we seek these out and avoid them?
