Basic Preliminary: A no cost basic waste stream overview for the purpose of establishing baseline data on your facility’s current purchasing, waste generation and management practices. A brief report that will identify potential waste reduction options and provide a list of resources for diversion of materials is included. This usually takes about an hour and requires meeting with someone familiar with the facility's management and procurement practices. This includes:
- Preliminary waste audit
- Written summary (1-2 pages)
- Quote for more in depth services
Basic Intensive (For Fee): A more in depth and focused evaluation personalized to specifics of your company’s waste stream looking at procurement, business processes, waste collection and disposal. This includes:
- In depth waste audit/ sort
- Site walk-through and mapping
- Review of waste/recycling records
- Analysis and Evaluation
- Written Report with prioritized recommendations, environmental benefits and estimated cost impacts
- Lists of drop-off locations/ pick up services for Hard-to-Recycle items (E-waste, furniture, surplus building supplies)
Implementation/Reporting (For Fee): This is where the recycling containers hit the floor and it’s time to draw upon the information gathered during the “Basic Intensive”. ZWP staff will put the recommendations into action and implement recycling efforts at your company’s location. This includes:
- Training and education of staff, students, employees
- Lists of containers and liners: vendors, product and prices including bulk rates
- Design and production of custom signage for recycling efforts and/or public education
- Negotiations with waste and recycling haulers
- Lists of environmentally preferable products (compostable, recyclable, green, local, etc.) for your Office, Bathroom, Cleaning and Breakroom supplies.
- Monitoring for green certification for your program which will include records of the amount of materials gathered separated by type (recyclable, compostable) and the carbon equivalent impact of diversion and purchasing of environmentally preferable products.
