Zero Waste Pittsburgh is a project of the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC), and was created as a one stop shop for recycling and waste minimization resources and assistance in Southwestern Pennsylvania for businesses, institutions, and special events. The goal of the ZWP project is to facilitate the implementation and expansion of sustainable waste reduction and recycling efforts by providing up to date resources, assistance and expertise to businesses, institutions and special events throughout the region. ZWP’s efforts focus on recycling, waste minimization, environmentally preferable product procurement, composting and the sharing of best practices gleaned from practical real world experience. ZWP staff are considered experts in the field of waste reduction and recycling and can provide all facets of services from basic information to comprehensive waste composition analysis, design of recycling systems, employee training and staffing of collection efforts.
